As 2023 comes to a close, we’re looking back on some of the exciting products we added at PROLIGHTING this year. Among them, Task Lighting’s popular Lighted Power Strips with an upgraded tunable-white feature, Lutron Caséta’s new Pico Paddle Remote for dimmers and switches, and Lotus’ RGB+CCT Tunable Floating Gimbal — the first smart product from the downlight brand. These three products quickly became best sellers at PROLIGHTING for their functionality and innovative features.
Task Lighting & Power, a Hardware Resources company, introduced a new lighted power strip that combines tunable-white lighting and power in their signature angled housing. Designed to provide maximum flexibility for under cabinet applications, the RM Series Lighted Power Strip features patented two-wire TandemLED innovation for fast and easy installation. The lighted power strip can be combined with Task Lighting’s Tunable-white LED Strip Lighting or linear fixtures for interior cabinet, crown and toe kick lighting to create a personalized lighting experience.
The RM Series is powered by a remote power supply (sold separately) and offers a higher light output of 600 lumens per foot. It can be adjusted from a warm white 2700K to a bright white 5000K or anywhere in between. The RM Series Lighted Power Strip can also be connected to a WAV receiver that allows the lights to be controlled using a smart home device like Alexa or any other Zigbee compatible lighting hub. Using voice commands or their smart home app allows customers to easily set the mood on demand. The series is available in four finishes, black, bronze, satin nickel and white to blend with any decor. Custom lengths may be ordered to add additional power receptacles or switches.
Lutron launched a new Pico remote for their Caséta family of wireless products that’s designed to match the Diva Smart Dimmer, Claro Smart Switch, and your home’s other existing paddle-style controls. With the Pico Paddle remote, users can add a new wireless Caséta control location nearly anywhere — no cutting holes or pulling wire required. The Pico Paddle offers exclusive 3-way control functionality when paired with the Diva Smart Dimmer. Simply mount the Pico Paddle to a wall with the wallplate bracket (sold separately) and easily add a point of control in high-traffic areas like long hallways that lack a convenient control location.
This battery-operated remote requires no external power or communication wiring. The Pico Paddle remote has a generous 10-year battery life (one CR2032 battery included) and is compatible with Caséta Wireless, RadioRA 3, and HomeWorks.
Lotus, the creators of the original super-thin downlight, released the exciting new Smart RGB + Tunable White Floating Gimbal—the first smart product from the brand. The Smart RGB Floating Gimbal is a 4-inch adjustable downlight that’s ideal for sloped ceilings, highlighting artwork, wall washing, outdoor applications, and more. The floating gimbal series by Lotus are an excellent choice to provide your general ceiling lighting application with long lasting, energy efficient LED illumination. The Smart Floating Gimbal LED Downlight is capable of emitting the full color spectrum, from red (1000K) to blue (10,000K), and programming custom scenes. These features are accessible via the Smart Life app only.
Each floating gimbal allows for a 360º rotation and very wide 90º tilt to direct light exactly where you need it. IC-rated and only 1.38″ thick, these downlights install directly into the ceiling with no recessed housing required. A high CRI of 90+ means you’ll enjoy true color rendering in the area of installation. The Smart Floating Gimbal LED Downlight is available in white or black trim.
