Light Efficient Design is located in Cary, Illinois and is made up of roughly 20 – 25 employees.  Strong research, and a knowledgeable staff has made them a premiere small manufacturer of energy-smart LED retrofit solutions.  They are leaders in the fast paced LED industry, and have proved to be very useful in new technologies, such as advanced active cooling and smart temperature control.  Proactive research and development sets Light Efficient Design apart and provides unique LED retrofit solutions for the marketplace.  Since PROLIGHTING started working with Light Efficient Design, the experience has been very positive. The unique product line allows us to offer speciality solutions to our customers.

Lighting and Product Quality

Light Efficient Design invests considerable time and money in the testing of products for the best performance and longevity of their products. Their products are supported by UL, DLC, Lighting Design Lab, LM79 and LM80, and Lighting Facts.  These different Lighting certifications are a standard that most if not all manufacturers try to obtain to ensure the best quality of products.  A strong presence of these certifications is a key indicator that the products you are purchasing will 1, be of good quality, last long, and 2, help ensure that the products will fit the application you are placing them in.

LED Retrofits

Retrofitting with Light Efficient Design in your outdoor or indoor work space with LED lighting is usually always a smart option to consider.  The ultra-efficient lighting source is more affordable than ever due to the cost of component and energy efficiency incentives.  Whether your space is over, or under-lit, if you replace your metal halide fixtures with LEDs the benefits are more than just energy based.  You will spend less time maintaining older out dated lighting.  We recommend doing a mockup for most all retrofit projects, in particular if the replacement lamps will be using the existing sockets.  PROLIGHTING offers on site lighting audits and will create a full project plan for free.  We also compare light distribution and delivered lumens to make sure they are comparably the same when switching from an omni-directional to a directional light source.
