The DALS Smart Home Starter Kit offers everything you need for a quick and affordable way to get started, all in one box. The components of the Smart Home Starter Kit are simple to incorporate into your home and offer a variety of useful features that you can use on a daily basis. Set up is as easy as (1) installing or plugging-in your device, (2) downloading the DALS Connect™ app, and (3) connecting your device.
Smart lighting is lighting that can be controlled remotely using a wireless connection and a smartphone app. DALS Lighting launched its first smart home products in 2017 and has since developed an application expertise. In 2019, DALS introduced the DALS Connect™ platform which quickly established its leadership with its Wi-Fi direct product ecosystem. Last year, DALS announced its DALS Connect™ PRO product assortment, which uses a Bluetooth mesh technology—allowing for a much higher number of devices installed on a network as well as several other features. Both DALS Connect™ and DALS Connect™ PRO products work together and can easily co-exist on the same application.

What are the main differences between DALS Connect™ and DALS Connect™ PRO?
Quick start – direct features
DALS Connect™ products use Wi-Fi wireless technology which is used widely to connect computers, tablets, smartphones, smart devices, and other to the internet. Wi-Fi is shared through a router to all Wi-Fi enabled devices. This technology allows for a lot of range and a lot of devices, although there are some limitations as well. Wi-Fi has a relatively high absorption rate and works best for line-of-sight uses. A residential wireless access point usually has a range of about 30 feet and a maximum of 20 devices, depending on the type of wireless access point.
Higher number of devices – independent network
DALS Connect™ PRO uses Bluetooth-mesh technology. It works on the principle that each Bluetooth device on the mesh network can relay commands to another device, through the connection from the previous device. Bluetooth-mesh networking is a standard based on Bluetooth Low Energy that allows for many-to-many communication over Bluetooth radio. You can use your smartphone or tablet to control large groups of products even without an internet connection.
DALS Connect™ PRO hub
You can also add the DALS Connect™ PRO Hub to connect up to 128 DALS Connect™ PRO products to the cloud as a single internet connection (as opposed to DALS Connect™ products where each product has its individual connection). You can also use multiple hubs for projects with more than 128 devices, with each hub acting as an internet connection as well. Cloud connection allows you to use your products with voice command platforms (such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa) as well as allowing for remote control.
Thanks to the DALS Connect™ App, you don’t have to use multiple apps to control all of your smart devices, even if you decide to mix and match communication technologies. The DALS Connect™ App can support Bluetooth-mesh devices mixed with Wi-Fi devices, and you can add cloud connectivity to your Bluetooth-mesh devices using the DALS Connect™ PRO hub. All of these will work together.
