You’ll also enjoy significant cost savings with our LED flat panels which are more efficient and last a lot longer than your standard incandescent light bulbs which may give you a thousand or so hours of use. Our LED flat panels last on average 50 thousand hours. You would have to change out a conventional bulb 50 times over the same duration. In addition, they use much less power to create an equivalent amount of light as an incandescent. A 40 watt LED is comparable to a standard 200-watt bulb so each year you’d only be spending about twenty-five dollars in electricity for an LED compared to about a $125 for a regular light.
LED vs. Fluorescent
Modern flat panels are also a smarter safer choice than fluorescent lighting. Fluorescents contain mercury vapor which is a hazardous material and poses a small danger if the bulbs break. It’s illegal for businesses to discard these bulbs in the trash when they expire. Studies have also shown that more than 10% of Americans are sensitive to fluorescent light because fluorescents can at times flicker and can cause eye strain and migraines. You won’t run into these problems with LED panels. Another critical factor is that these products can be installed pretty much anywhere available in both 2 x 2, 2 x 4, and 1 x 4 sizes. They fit perfectly in your ceiling grid and because they are so thin and streamlined they’re a perfect fit in grids where you don’t have a lot of space to maneuver above the t-bar. This design makes them a much better choice than the bulkier and heavier fluorescent fixtures plus the back side of our panels feature a compact and convenient electrical box to house the driver in this makes it easy to integrate these panels into both new and existing installations.
Mounting and Color Temperature
Currently, there are three ways to mount flat panels. Surface, pendant, and recessed. Surface mounting sits flush against the T-bar in drop ceilings. Simple and quick. Pendant mounting allows the panel to hang. Recessed mounting for areas that are not in rooms with drop ceilings.
Our best selling flat panels are offered in three color temperatures. Warm white at 3000K (Kelvin temperature), warm neutral at 3500K, and cool white at 4000K.
Warm white is good to consider in your house for a cozy ambiance. The natural white color is an excellent choice for darker areas and can bring a little outdoor feel to the room. Finally, the cool white panel great for work areas where you need to see detail.
