Westgate Lighting is one of the broadest brands in the PROLIGHTING lineup. Rather than specializing in one type of fixture, Westgate Manufacturing covers commercial interiors, warehouses, parking lots, architectural spaces, homes, kitchens, landscapes and emergency applications.
That range is an advantage on a mixed project and a problem when you’re trying to shop it. This guide breaks the catalog into the parts that matter, starting with what our customers actually buy most.

What Is Westgate Manufacturing?
Westgate Manufacturing builds practical, energy efficient lighting across residential, commercial, industrial and architectural applications, along with controls and electrical products. The company was founded in 2007 and ships from its warehouse in the Los Angeles area.
What sets Westgate apart from most manufacturers is the sheer number of applications it covers. The same brand supplies lighting for a warehouse, a parking lot, an office, a restaurant, a residential kitchen and an outdoor landscape. The positioning is value: broad selection at competitive pricing rather than a single flagship product line.
Westgate also builds field adjustability into most of its catalog. Selectable wattage, selectable color temperature, photocells, sensors, emergency backup and smart controls show up across product families, which is a large part of why the brand works well for contractors.

The biggest advantage is that a contractor can stay inside one brand across several parts of a project instead of sourcing every fixture type from a different manufacturer.
Westgate Recessed Downlights
This is where most Westgate orders start, and it’s the deepest part of the catalog by a wide margin.
The families worth knowing break down by shape and profile:
RSL slim round is the wafer style workhorse, available in 3″, 4″, 6″, 8″ and 10″, plus a 12″ for larger rooms. Thin enough to install without a housing, CCT selectable, and the version most people reach for on a remodel. The 10″ is one of our best selling Westgate downlights, and wet rated versions are available for showers and covered porches.
RDL round has a deeper profile with a choice of smooth or baffle trim. The baffle version cuts glare noticeably, which matters in bedrooms and anywhere people sit under the light. There’s also a 12V version for low voltage systems, and the family goes down to 1″ and 2″ apertures for accent and pinhole style lighting.
SDL square and SSL slim square cover the same ground in a square aperture, which suits modern interiors and matches square trims elsewhere in a room. The 12″ SSL is one of the most popular fixtures in the entire Westgate lineup.
Most of these families come in CCT selectable versions with a switch on the fixture, so one part number covers 2700K through 5000K. That’s the single most useful thing about the range if you’re stocking rather than buying per job. Fixed color temperature versions exist too, so check the part number before you order.
Two specialty options are worth knowing. Dim to warm versions of the RSL and RDL shift from 4000K down to a warm 2200K as you dim, similar to how an incandescent lamp behaves. And fire rated RSL and SSL wafers are available for ceilings that require a rated assembly.

When choosing a Westgate downlight, work through:
- Aperture size
- New construction or remodel
- Canless wafer or can retrofit
- Fixed or adjustable
- Trim style, smooth or baffle
- Color temperature, including dim to warm
- Wet, damp or fire rated requirements
- Dimming compatibility

Westgate LED Lamps and T8 Tubes
The second biggest part of the Westgate business is lamps, and specifically T8 LED tubes.
The 48 inch T8 is the single highest volume Westgate product we ship. It’s a Type A/B hybrid, which means it runs on an existing fluorescent ballast or on line voltage with the ballast bypassed. That flexibility is the whole appeal: you can survey a building, order one part number, and handle whatever wiring you find when the cover comes off.
Two things to check before you rely on ballast mode. Not every ballast is compatible, so confirm yours against the tube’s compatibility list, and plan on bypassing any ballast that’s near the end of its life anyway. If you’d rather bypass every time, Westgate also offers Type B only tubes that skip the ballast question entirely.
The lamp range also covers HID replacements for retrofitting metal halide fixtures, A shape lamps, PAR lamps, MR16, and decorative filament lamps.
On HID retrofits, one sizing note: don’t match the old wattage. HID output degrades substantially over its life, so a lamp near end of life may be putting out as little as half what it did new. Size by the lumens the space actually needs and the LED will draw well below the wattage of the HID it replaces.

Westgate Under Cabinet Lighting
Under cabinet is a bigger part of the Westgate catalog than most people expect, and the UCR swivel light bar is one of the top selling products in the whole brand.
The UCR comes in 12″, 18″, 24″, 32″ and 40″ lengths, CCT selectable, with a swivel head so you can aim the light at the counter rather than straight down the backsplash. Every UCR also has receptacles built into the bar, and the 18″ and longer versions add USB charging, so one fixture handles both task light and power. That combination, plus the aiming feature, is the reason it outsells fixed bars.
The wider lineup includes 120V, 24V and 12V systems, linear light bars and puck lights. Select products add RGBW, adjustable color temperature and linkable installation, so a run of cabinets can be daisy chained off one feed.
That range takes the category beyond kitchen counters. Common applications include offices, workbenches, shelving, display cases, closets and workshops.

Westgate Angled Power Strips
This is one of the most useful categories in the brand, and one of the highest volume.
Angled power strips mount underneath cabinetry and put the receptacles at an angle facing the user, which keeps outlets off the backsplash entirely. On a kitchen remodel where the tile or slab is the feature, that’s often the deciding factor.
There are two lines. The PSA is power only, with standard receptacles and USB charging in lengths from 12″ to 42″. The PSAL takes it further by combining the power strip with integrated under cabinet lighting in one assembly, including standard receptacles, USB charging and selectable color temperature. It runs on 120 to 277V and comes in lengths from 13″ to 42″. One run, one feed, both jobs done.
These systems work well in kitchens, offices, workshops, labs and commercial workspaces. On any countertop install, confirm the circuit meets local code for kitchen receptacles, including GFCI protection.

Westgate Landscape Lighting
Landscape is another substantial part of the catalog. The family covers path lights, directional and spot lights, flood lights, step and hardscape lights, well lights, underwater lighting, wall sconces and accessories, in aluminum, brass, copper and other outdoor rated constructions.
Path lights and step lights are the volume products. Directional fixtures handle the accent work: trees, building facades, signs, columns, planting beds and architectural details.
On step and hardscape lighting, Westgate offers both low voltage and line voltage approaches, which matters because low voltage lets you run Class 2 wiring without conduit in many cases. Check local code before you skip the conduit.
One thing to get right before ordering: on a 12V system, plan each run so voltage drop stays under about 10% at the last fixture, and don’t load the transformer past roughly 80% of its rating. A long run with undersized wire leaves the last fixtures visibly dim, and that looks like a product problem when it’s a wiring problem.
Browse Westgate Landscape Lighting or compare across brands in our landscape and hardscape lighting selection.

Westgate Commercial Outdoor Lighting
The exterior lineup covers building perimeters, parking lots, roadways, garages and general site lighting, including wall packs, area lights, flood lights, canopy fixtures, bollards and exterior step lighting.
Wall packs come in traditional, full cutoff and architectural styles, with photocells, selectable wattage, selectable CCT and emergency configurations depending on the model. Full cutoff is increasingly required by local codes and dark sky ordinances, since it keeps light on your property instead of the neighbor’s.
Flood lights handle directional work, aimed at a building, sign, yard or loading area. Westgate offers them across commercial and architectural styles with various mounting options.
Area lights cover parking lots and larger sites from poles or mounting arms. When comparing them, don’t choose on wattage alone. Consider mounting height, required lumen output, pole spacing, optical distribution, voltage and whether you need a photocell or sensor. A photometric layout tells you how many fixtures you need and where they go, and we can put one together for you.
Bollards and canopy fixtures round out the range for walkways, entries, parking structures and fuel canopies.
For plazas, parks and streetscapes, Westgate’s newer Tree of Light series brings a sculptural option to site lighting. Full tree configurations run from 100W to 275W with selectable color temperature, and single to quad arm post tops cover smaller courtyards and entries.
Westgate Architectural Lighting
The architectural side extends past basic commercial fixtures into cylinders, suspended fixtures, linear lighting and decorative geometric systems.
The SCX linear family is the deepest part of it, covering direct, indirect, up and down, recessed lens, louvered, circular and square configurations across a range of lengths and mounting types. Many models are CCT selectable with 0-10V dimming, and RGBW versions are available. These suit offices, lobbies, restaurants, retail, conference rooms and hospitality interiors.
Cylinders run from 1 inch architectural fixtures up to larger suspended and surface mounted versions, in round, square, adjustable, two tone and RGBW configurations. The wall mount cylinder is a strong seller for us. Cylinders are the answer when you want downlight style illumination but a recessed fixture isn’t possible or isn’t the look.
Westgate Commercial Indoor Lighting
For offices, schools, healthcare and warehouses, Westgate offers LED panels, troffers, high bays, strip lights and wraparound fixtures.
Many newer models include adjustable output or selectable color temperature, so one fixture covers several specifications. That helps on projects where the final lumen level or CCT isn’t decided until installation.
High bays come in linear, UFO and compact styles for warehouses, manufacturing and workshops, with controls and sensor options where occupancy or daylight harvesting can cut energy use further.
Strip and wrap fixtures are the economical choice for garages, utility rooms, storage, corridors and back of house areas where you want light and nothing else.
Westgate Residential and Decorative Lighting
Westgate isn’t only a commercial manufacturer. The residential catalog includes wall sconces, ceiling lighting, vanity fixtures, post mount lights, disk lights and decorative products alongside the recessed range.
Wall sconces and post mounts are the strongest sellers here, which makes sense given how much of the brand’s residential business runs through builders and remodelers.

Westgate Smart and RGBW Lighting
Color changing and smart control now run across several Westgate categories, including commercial interiors, landscape, downlights and architectural wall lighting. Compatible products are controlled through the Westgate Smart app, connecting over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth depending on the product.
RGBW isn’t just for decoration. These systems earn their place in hospitality, restaurants, retail, entertainment spaces, outdoor landscapes and event environments where scenes and color effects have commercial value.
Westgate Exit, Emergency and Solar
Two smaller but useful parts of the catalog.
Exit and emergency covers LED exit signs, edge lit signs, combination exit and emergency fixtures, emergency light heads, wet location emergency lighting, NEMA 4X options and remote heads. Combination units simplify installation by handling exit identification and emergency illumination in one assembly.
Solar covers roadway and area lights, floods, sign lights, wall mounted products and bollards. Solar makes sense when running new electrical service would be difficult or expensive: remote parking areas, walkways, trails, signs, driveways, parks and perimeter areas where trenching adds real cost.
Westgate Warranty by Category
Worth knowing before you spec, because it varies more than most brands:
| Category | Warranty |
|---|---|
| Outdoor lighting | 7 years |
| Industrial, commercial indoor, residential, ribbon, under cabinet, landscape brass and copper | 5 years |
| Landscape aluminum, exit and emergency | 3 years |
| Electrical products | 1 year |
The warranty covers repair or replacement of defective product only, not labor or installation costs, and it applies to product bought through an authorized Westgate distributor like PROLIGHTING. The exact catalog number and its published terms always control, so confirm before you rely on it.
How to Choose the Right Westgate Product
Start with the application, not the SKU.
For a home, start with the room and decide between recessed, surface mount or decorative.
For an office or school, compare panels, troffers and commercial linear fixtures.
For a warehouse, begin with ceiling height, required lumens and high bay distribution.
For a parking lot, evaluate mounting height, pole spacing, optics and controls.
For a building exterior, decide between wall packs, floods, cylinders and architectural sconces.
For under cabinet, determine voltage, fixture length, dimming needs and whether integrated receptacles would help.
For landscape, consider the object or surface being lit before picking a fixture style, then check voltage drop across the run.
And wherever possible, look for selectable wattage or CCT. Field flexibility simplifies the installation and reduces how many part numbers you have to carry.
Westgate Lighting FAQs
Is Westgate Lighting the same as Westgate Manufacturing?
Yes. Westgate Manufacturing is the company behind the Westgate Lighting product lineup.
Does Westgate make both commercial and residential lighting?
Yes. The catalog spans residential, commercial, industrial, architectural and outdoor applications across both fixtures and lamps.
Are Westgate LED downlights dimmable?
Many are, but the supported dimming type and minimum level vary by model. Check the specific catalog number for TRIAC, ELV, 0-10V or other control requirements and pair it with a compatible dimmer. For a warmer glow as you dim, look for the dim to warm versions.
What is the difference between a wafer light and a traditional recessed can?
A wafer is a thin canless downlight with a remote junction box or driver, so it fits shallow ceilings and installs without a housing. A traditional recessed light uses a larger housing above the ceiling, which can offer more serviceability, optics and trim choices.
Which Westgate products work outdoors?
Westgate offers many wet location and IP rated outdoor products, but the rating is model specific. Confirm wet or damp location rating, IP rating, corrosion resistance and ambient temperature limits for your installation.
Are Westgate fixtures DLC listed and rebate eligible?
Many commercial fixtures are DLC listed, but qualification applies to specific catalog numbers and configurations rather than whole families. Verify the exact SKU against the current DLC list and your utility’s rebate rules, and check whether pre approval is required before work starts.
Does Westgate offer smart lighting?
Yes. Select RGBW and smart fixtures are controlled through the Westgate Smart app, connecting over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth depending on the product.
What is Westgate’s warranty?
It varies by category: 7 years for outdoor lighting; 5 years for industrial, commercial indoor, residential, ribbon, under cabinet and landscape brass and copper; 3 years for landscape aluminum and exit and emergency; and 1 year for electrical products. The exact SKU and its published terms control.
Does Westgate’s warranty cover labor?
No. Westgate repairs or replaces defective product, but the warranty doesn’t cover removal, installation or other labor costs.
