Introducing RadioRA 3: an improved and re-imagined version of Lutron’s RadioRA 2 system. Brand new for 2022, RA 3 promises to transform the way residential customers look at lighting control. Ten years in the making, RadioRA 3 pairs first-ever IoT connected lighting controls with a new, more powerful processor that simplifies programming and installation. RadioRA 3 brings the contemporary light bar design of 2020’s Sunnata to a full range of connected controls—dimmers with capacitive touch technology, switches and keypads. The light bar’s soft glow makes it easy to locate the switch at night, and its brightness is adjustable. RA 3 dimmers, switches, and wallplates are available in a full range of fresh colors and finishes - 24 in all—making it easier than ever to match any home décor.

Easier to Install

The processor for RadioRA 3 is a game-changer for system set up and installation. The new all-in-one processor combines the functionality of the main repeater and connect bridge of RadioRA 2. It comes with new QuickFind software built-in, which makes locating the processor on the home network during setup much easier. Powered by PoE via cat5e (or better) cable from the network router, you can install it centrally in the home for optimal RF coverage with no need for a power supply and nearby 120v outlet. It’s recess, shelf, and junction box-mountable for a neat and tidy finish, and to keep it protected. PoE-enabled router unavailable? The processor kit is sold with POE injector included.

Backwards compatible* with RadioRA 2 and RA2 Select, each processor controls up to 200 Lutron devices** with Lutron’s ultra-reliable ClearConnect® RF technology. Coming soon – the ability to pair two RA 3 processors to create 1 system of up to 400 devices.

With its new simplified software, RadioRA 3 will save you a lot of time. Easily manage device count across the total system—no more assigning rooms to individual repeaters. Create floor, room or sub-room hierarchies so the design is intuitive to your clients and reduces data entry by applying programming across devices with one click. Upgrading a RA2 system? Easily convert the existing RadioRA2 programming to the new RadioRA3 processor with only a few clicks.

New app-based editing features allow you to refine programs in real time. If changes need to be made after installation, the new remote service programming feature lets you make adjustments easily.

Streamlined Integration

Lutron works with more connected brands than any other dedicated lighting control or motorized shading system. RadioRA 3 takes integration to another level:
- RA 3 now comes with Lutron’s LEAP API which embeds system programming directly in the top control brands’ design software, eliminating the need to do the programming twice and saving tons of time.
- LEAP offers a high degree of network security via Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.2, the same protocol used in internet banking.

(Q): Does this make my RadioRA 2 system obsolete?
(A): RadioRA 3 is backwards compatible with all RadioRA2 products, with the exception of these devices: GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless control unit, GRAFIK T keypad, seeTemp keypad, TouchPRO Wireless temperature control, Wallbox Power Module, HVAC controller with wireless temperature sensor.

(Q): Can I still use Pico with RadioRA 3?
(A): Yes, Pico remotes are compatible with the RadioRA 3 system and can be programmed to operate Sunnata devices.

(Q): Does RadioRA 3 replace Caséta?
(A): No, this is not a replacement system for Caséta. This is a new and improved version of the RadioRA 2 system.

(Q): Do I need to take additional Lutron courses to become certified to program RA3?
(A): Regardless of your status with RA2, LV1 Essentials, or LV2 Inclusive, installers must take the RadioRA 3 training prior to gaining access to the software. Please visit Lutron’s website for more information.
