Hazardous Location Lighting FAQs
Hazardous location ratings indicate that a fixture is specifically designed and certified for environments where flammable gases, vapors, or dust may be present. These ratings—like Class I, Div 1—ensure safety and compliance with industry regulations.
Absolutely. Many of our hazardous location fixtures feature robust, weather-resistant enclosures that protect against moisture and contaminants, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor areas where hazards exist.
Start by identifying the classification of your environment (e.g., Class I, Div 1 vs. Class I, Div 2). Then, consider the required lumen output, mounting style, and temperature rating. If you’re unsure, our lighting experts can help you select the best option.
Yes. Our Hazardous Location Lighting meets or exceeds relevant standards (like UL844, CSA, and NEC). Always verify specific codes in your project’s jurisdiction to ensure full compliance.
Not at all. While we recommend professional installation for safety, our fixtures often feature user-friendly designs—such as hinged housings and accessible components—to simplify both installation and upkeep.
Many hazardous location fixtures are rated for a wide operating temperature range. Verify each product’s spec sheet to confirm performance in high-heat or cold-storage settings.
Definitely. We offer various retrofit solutions that work with standard mounting and wiring configurations, helping you upgrade to safer, more energy-efficient lighting without major disruptions to your facility.
